WHAT IS GOLD FILLED?
Gold filled (GF)
Gold filled or goldfilled is an English term that has become fairly established in Sweden. The correct Swedish translation is "gold plated". Sometimes it is also called "gold-plated sterling." Gold filled is an improved variant of gold plating, which gold stocks usually corresponds to 1/20 of the total weight of the object. The metal inside is usually brass and gold is usually 14 carats. Gold bearing is durable and can withstand heavy use.
